Speed sensors

Emission reduction is mainly based on the use of intelligent sensor systems for internal combustion engines and for innovative applications in e-mobility. In particular, the accurate measurement of rotation speed from zero to the highest levels is key to achieving the ambitious goals of future emission requirements in many applications. AB Elektronik offers an innovative portfolio of robust speed sensors with fast response times and high precision to support our customers' systems reliably even in demanding environments.

Our portfolio offers a range of robust sensors for the crankshaft and camshaft, proven for their accuracy and long life. As an innovation partner to our customers, we are addressing future generations of vehicles with innovative new developments, which offer additional benefits of accuracy, design and cost structure.

 

Direct over moulding

By using a special thermosetting material and appropriate process technology for direct over moulding, we have achieved impressive durability and improved the robustness of our speed sensors significantly, as well as optimising the design for cost reduction.

Through many years’ experience at our center of excellence for speed sensors, we are able to carry out the critical processing steps in our central highly automated plants in Germany, and to produce the final prepared modules at consistently high quality in assembly plants worldwide.

 

HSRP – High Speed Rotor Position Sensor

The new inductive high-speed rotation and position technology (HSRP) has been developed in accordance with the requirements ISO 26262 and enables the accurate detection of speed and rotary position, especially for sensors in the engine and vehicle mount portion of the drive train.

Achieving responsible use of resources and protecting our environment requires precise measurements even at low speeds and just after vehicle start-up. Loss-free speed sensing enables optimum motor control, resulting in lower emissions and improved drivability.
