TT Electronics  Announce AX-FORCE™, a Modular Bidirectional Power Conversion Solution announced at DSEI 2025

AX-FORCE™ is a revolutionary modular solution supporting both AC/DAC and DC/ADC bidirectional conversion delivering superior power density, performance, reliability, and efficiency for a wide range of aerospace and defence applications.

Woking, UK [9 September 2025] – TT Electronics, a global provider of engineered technologies for performance-critical applications, today announces the launch of their newest power conversion solution for aerospace and defence – AX-FORCE™ Bidirectional power converter.

AX-FORCE™ Bidirectional power converter sets new standards in aerospace and defence power conversion. Delivering unrivalled efficiency, compactness, and configurability, this bidirectional power converter is engineered to support a broad range of electrification and mission-critical applications while ensuring reliability under the most demanding conditions.

Enabling seamless AC/DC and DC/AC power flow with efficiencies exceeding 96%, AX-FORCE™ is scalable to 150kW and delivers up to five times the system power of traditional solutions in a lightweight, modular design. Built to rigorous aerospace and military standards, including RTCA-DO-160, MIL-STD-704, and MIL-STD-461, AX-FORCE™ integrates advanced protections and universal configurability to support platforms ranging from electrified aircraft and eVTOL propulsion to naval shipboard grids and tactical microgrids. AX-FORCE™ can be paralleled for higher power applications greater than 150KW up to 500KW. The AX-FORCE™ can be configured in real time for 7 different applications (AC/DC/AC) bus/bridge converter, AC/DC converter, Motor control, Servo Control, Current source inverter, voltage source inverter and Battery charger)

"The aerospace and defence sectors face growing pressure to electrify platforms, extend fleet life, and improve energy efficiency, all while maintaining reliability.” said Sanjeev Sachan, Engineering Director at TT Electronics. “AX-FORCE™ addresses these challenges with a universal, lightweight, and highly efficient solution that reduces footprint, improves utilisation, and accelerates next-gen capability deployment. While traditional converters are bulky, inefficient, and limited in scope, AX-FORCE™ uses advanced SiC technology to achieve ultra-high-power density, delivering three to five times more system power in the same space and weight.”

Smarter, Cleaner, More-Electric Platforms
At over 96% efficiency, AX-FORCE™ dramatically reduces wasted energy, cuts heat output and supports aerospace and defence organisations in meeting sustainability and net-zero objectives. Its lightweight form factor saves critical space, enabling engineers to integrate additional mission systems into airframes, vehicles, or vessels. For microgrids, its bidirectional nature reduces cost and complexity while enabling energy reuse instead of loss.

Equally important, AX-FORCE™ is universal and software-configurable. One unit adapts to multiple systems, reducing non-recurring engineering costs and accelerating platform upgrades. Its modularity and fault isolation features further enhance reliability in mission-critical environments, delivering the ruggedness and compliance demanded by aerospace and defence customers.

AX-Force™ by TT Electronics is designed for aerospace primes, defence contractors, and innovators such as emerging eVTOL and tactical microgrid providers. By enabling compact, efficient, and configurable, line replaceable  power conversion, AX-FORCEä enhances operational performance while lowering lifecycle costs across air, land, and sea platforms.
