TT Electronics Bedlington Site Family Open Day

TT Electronics Welwyn Components in Bedlington, UK opened its doors on Saturday 12th September to employees' friends and families. Over two hundred guests braved the rain to attend the fun day, which included football competitions, barbecue, live music and market stalls. Employees past and present took a trip down memory lane with a photo gallery showing how manufacturing has changed over the years, and recalling incidents like the blizzards of 1978 and the fire of 1982. There were also tours of the production area and opportunities for some of tomorrow's engineers to experiment with resistors.

Dawn Prior, HR Director said "Events like today, and the employees' effort to make them happen, remind us of what a great place to work Welwyn is; the pride employees have taken in showing their friends and family around our workplace is great to see and we look forward to many more future events."

The free event raised #400 in donations, after matching by TT Electronics, for the company's UK charity partner, Macmillan Cancer Care.
